Hello and Welcome! My name is Callie and I am thrilled that you are taking this big (and maybe even a little scary) step in supporting your child’s mental health! I understand that it can feel both exciting and intimidating and I am here to hold space for you and your child.
Here is a “quick list” to tell you a bit more about what therapy with me looks like:
- Ages: 5-13 (elementary/middle school age)
- Session type: Primarily in-person, with some online sessions for caregiver support
- Insurance: I am in network with BCBS & Aetna. We can provide a “superbill” for you to use “out of network” benefits if you have OON coverage (see our FAQ page for more info!)
- Who I typically work with: Neurodivergent kids, LGBTQIA+ youth and families, and kids experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and family changes.
- Play therapy strategies, CBT, trauma-focused CBT, mindfulness, and sensory based interventions.
- I offer parenting/caregiver support in addition to individual support for your child.
Children don’t always have the tools and words to express their thoughts and emotions which can sometimes lead to behavioral changes such as emotional outbursts and withdrawing from things they used to be interested in. This can be confusing and even frustrating for parents and caregivers as they try to navigate these big feelings.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I received my Masters in Social Work from North Carolina State University. Before joining the Flourish team I worked as a school social worker in the public school system for four years and then worked as a Care Coordinator assisting members of the LGBTQIA+ community in finding support and resources.
