It’s so nice to “meet” you!
I am passionate about helping children, teens and their families work
toward their healthiest self. This could mean learning regulation
techniques, developing insight or developing secure relationships.
Growing up is difficult, and each stage presents compounded
challenges. Children and teens can feel isolated, confused, or
frustrated with emotional and behavioral experiences separating them
from who they want to be. There is freedom in lowering the symptoms
and increasing the skills, as well as understanding as a parent, how
you can help.
I use a relational and trauma-informed approach to therapy. I find
this is the best way to use my varied experience and knowledge to
apply to your unique life experiences and goals. I pull from models of
CBT, DBT, experiential techniques and trauma informed strengths-based
methods. This includes the teaching, practice and mastery of
emotion-regulation, interpersonal skills and thought restructuring
that target core difficulties our children often feel impacted by. I
further look forward to parent inclusion as appropriate to support the
understanding, practice and mastery for continuing the work outside of
the office. I believe in transformative change that can impact not
just an individual, but can bring benefit and peace to a household,
and a community.
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and hold a masters
degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and have over 6 years of
varied experience working in intensive, crisis, inpatient and
outpatient settings with children and teens.
Outside of the therapy office I am often at the rock climbing gym or
running/hiking trails with my dogs and husband. I am a lover of the
mountains and moved here over 2 years ago because of the access to the
outdoors this area offers. I can get on a soap box about the
connection between movement and lowered levels of depression/anxiety
and will happily tell you more about it!
