Hello and welcome! It can be difficult for everyone involved when little ones have difficulty coping with big feelings. Sometimes it can be overwhelming for children (and caregivers!) to navigate worries, changes, traumatic experiences, and all of the “big feelings” that come along with being human. This can then lead to things like difficulty sleeping, behavioral concerns at school and at home, challenges forming friendships, and frustration within the whole family system.
I work diligently to provide the best care I can for all families I serve through a combination of working directly with children to learn new skills, and working alongside caregivers in developing a better understanding of their child’s unique needs.
My approach is warm, empathic, and trauma informed. I want my clients to leave my office feeling seen and heard, and I want them to know that having really big feelings is okay. I incorporate Somatic and Attachment Focused Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (S.A.F.E. EMDR), play, and age appropriate skill building into my practice. I provide education and support to parents throughout the therapeutic process.
I believe healing and growth exists in caring communities. I seek to actively support changes that make our local community and country more supportive of all families. I believe that ALL children deserve to have a safe space to be their authentic selves and to express themselves in a healthy and helpful way.
I believe the best days are spent outside, with a dog, family, and yummy food.
I look forward to partnering with you to support your child in learning new skills, as well as helping everyone better understand their own needs!
